Choosing the Perfect Bathroom Color

While it may not seem like it, creating the perfect bathroom can actually get quite complicated. There are so many factors that go into it: flooring, counter tops, cabinets, tile-the list could go on and on. If you’re looking to update your bathroom, sometimes the best place to start is with a fresh coat of paint. Painting your bathroom a new color is one of the simplest modifications, yet it can create a world of change.  Often times all it takes is a fresh look to make you feel as if you’ve transformed your entire bathroom. But how do you decide which color to choose?

Back to Basics with Beige
The classic look for a bathroom is a neutral tone such as light beige. Choosing a soft, modest color such as this gives you a traditional look, and enables you to take the decorating motif in a number of directions, incorporating many different colors and designs throughout. There are various shades of beige and tan that will give your bathroom a clean and homey feel.

                                                                                    Classic Gray Tones
Another instant classic for bathroom wall colors are gray tones. From a light gray to a deep charcoal, theses shades give off a cool, crisp feel to your bathroom. Gray matches very well with white, black, or hardwood cabinets, leaving you with a number of options for furnishing the rest of your bathroom. No matter which shade you decide on, gray walls will transform your bathroom into a sleek and modern space.

Colorful Considerations
If you want something a little more unique, consider going for a colorful look! A colorful bathroom is perfect for a half bath or a kid’s bathroom, but would still look great in a full or master bath. When going with something brighter, there are a few questions to consider: Will there be any contrast between colors? Do I want to paint the whole bathroom, or just an accent wall? Will this color be a part of a larger theme? One important factor to consider is not to go too bright. Softer tones such as teal or coral are perfect to maintain a sense of calm while still bringing a pop of color into your bathroom.

A Plethora of Patterns
One last option for your bathroom walls is to add a design. This could be a hand painted original, or through the use of wallpaper. Adding a design can take your bathroom many places, from fun and quirky, to elegant and sophisticated. Painting your own wall design brings an extremely personal touch to your home. And if that doesn’t work, the options are endless when it comes to wallpaper. There is truly a design out there for anyone, no matter how specific their tastes may be.
