Bedside Manner
If you
are looking to make your master bedroom complete, pay attention to the color
that you choose. Consider the atmosphere that you want to achieve and start
with the right color family. Dave Juarez, owner of D.J.’s Painting and Remodeling, says, “Once you know if you want bold or neutral, light or bright,
you’ll be able to narrow down your choices from there.” So what do you want in
your master bedroom?
Drama, Drama, Drama
If you
have bold style, go for a bold color in the master bedroom! This is probably
not a direction for those with a smaller space, but if you’ve got the right
layout, a deep tone can create a dramatic effect and a bold atmosphere in the
master bedroom. Pick a passionate red, a luxurious purple, or an authoritative
blue. If you want to get bold and a little creative, paint the walls white and
put a deep shade on the ceiling.
Cool and Collected
If bold and
bright aren’t your thing, never fear! There are plenty of paint palettes that
offer a more calming effect. Light shades in blue or green can promote feelings
of tranquility. A light yellow will provoke cheery, optimistic feelings. Picking
a soft tone can work for numerous themes while adding some color into the mix.
Neutral like Switzerland
Maybe
you’d rather stay a little more neutral on the matter of color. There are
plenty of whites, beiges, grays, and everything in between to accommodate your
needs. Still want a little color in there? Pick bright accessories or bedding!
Create visual interest with the furniture design! There are so many
possibilities.
Many
homeowners leave the master bedroom to last because ‘no one but us sees it,’
but that’s the point! Juarez of D.J.’s Painting and Remodeling says, “Make room
in your budget for the master bedroom projects, even if it is just a change in
color. It will allow you to create your own haven.”
